Samurai Jack will join the free-to-play fighting game MultiVersus next week.
The new trailer, which you can watch below, confirmed that the character will join the roster on July 23.
The conclusion of the trailer also confirmed that Beetlejuice will be added to the game this season. Voice lines referencing the Tim Burton character have been in the game for several months. The Animaniacs are also referenced in the closing image of the trailer.
Samurai Jack was an animated television show that began in 2001 and ran until 2004. It received a brief reboot in 2017. The show, created by Genndy Tartakovsky, was revered at the time for its storytelling and unique visual style.
Additionally, Ranked mode will be added to MultiVersus at the start of Season 2 on July 23, giving players the opportunity to participate in 1 vs. 1 and 2 vs. 2 matches while competing for leaderboard points to earn exclusive rank-based cosmetic rewards.
Season 2 will also include the Water Tower, a new map where players can battle on the iconic Warner Bros. Water Tower. The level will feature surprise nods to popular Warner Bros. characters and franchises.
The crossover fighter was originally released last year, giving fans the chance to battle it out in a Super Smash Bros-inspired experience starring Warner Bros biggest intellectual property. However, following some issues, the game was taken down for over a year for reworking.
The game returned on May 28 with three new playable fighters; The Joker from DC Comics, Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th, and Banana Guard from Adventure Time.
Earlier this month, Agent Smith from The Matrix was added to the game as part of update 1.05.
Version 1.05 also added two new modes, Free-For-All and Spectator. Free-For-All removes the team element from four-player matches, with the first player to score four ringouts winning.
