Samsung has acknowledged the Galaxy S22 Ultra display glitch and said it will roll out a fix soon. Launched earlier this month alongside the S22 and the S22 Plus, the S22 Ultra is the crown jewel in Samsung's 2022 smartphone lineup. It is the first Galaxy S-series device to ship with a built-in S Pen and Samsung is looking at it to replace the Galaxy Note lineup.
Having opened pre-bookings on Feb. 9, Samsung started shipping the Galaxy S22 Ultra early to some lucky buyers who booked their units early. However, for at least some of these buyers, their joy was short-lived when they started noticing a weird display bug on their devices. Thankfully, it looks to be a software glitch that Samsung says can be fixed with an update.

Following multiple reports of the glitch across social media sites and Samsung's own support forums, the company has confirmed that it is a software issue and one that will be fixed via a future OTA update. According to a post on a Samsung forum (re-hosted on Reddit), the problem has been identified and replicated by Samsung engineers, who are now working on developing a patch for it. As for when users can expect the update, Samsung said that it will happen «soon,» but there's no exact ETA for that yet. Until the update is rolled out, Samsung is recommending that users either change the screen mode to 'Vivid' or the resolution to FHD+ as a temporary workaround.
