With the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 rolling out at the Galaxy Unpacked 2024, the ongoing leaks and prototypes have revealed some key information regarding the design and other specifications, leaving little for the imagination or the big reveal. While this is not the first time prototype images have surfaced for the upcoming series, the recent leaked pictures of the dummy units showcase the inner and outer display of the devices, giving away particulars about the screen crease as well.
The latest leak via Sonny Dickson, as reported by 9to5Google, gives us greater insight into the design for both foldables. It looks like the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Flip 6 would not have major differentiating elements from their predecessors, and the crease issue still seems to persist with the sixth generation of the Fold series.
Deriving from the dummy units, the design changes are incremental, as the initial reports suggested a wider aspect ratio coming to the new series, which seems inaccurate. One thing that is confirmed through the pictures is the boxier design and more edgy corners to make these display specifics stay consistent till now.
Samsung users long hoped for the display crease to be reduced and relied on this change to be incorporated in the upcoming Fold models. However, the dummy units suggest the crease visibility is not going away any time soon, and the leaks pointing towards the company using an Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) for the Flip and Fold 6 might not be as reliable. The UTG was to help the tech giant make the screen more durable and also sport a new hinge format to reduce the crease.
