HBO has welcomed the addition of Gossip Girl alum Leighton Meester and social media star Quenlin Blackwell to. Meester and Blackwell have been cast to play guest-starring roles. Further details about their respective characters are still being kept under wraps.
“A codependent friend group reunites, navigating how the time apart, ambition, and new relationships have changed them,” reads the official logline.
The untitled half-hour comedy pilot will be written and executive produced by Sennott, who will also be leading the cast. This marks Sennott’s latest collaboration with HBO, after previously starring in The Idol. Joining the Bottoms star are Odessa A’zion, Jordan Firstman, Miles Robbins, and True Whitaker. Lorene Scafaria has signed on to direct and executive produce the pilot. In addition, Emma Barrie and Aida Rodgers are also set as executive producers.
Meester is best known for her iconic role as Blair Waldorf in the Gossip Girl series, which ran on-air for six seasons from 2007-2012. Her most recent TV project was a recurring appearance in Hulu’s shortlived comedy spin-off How I Met Your Father. Meanwhile, the upcoming pilot will serve as Blackwell’s acting debut, after first gaining recognition on social media. She currently has 9.8 million followers on TikTok.
