While its development was not the easiest for various reasons, AEW Fight Forever was finally released in late June, and those who have played it have enjoyed it. They dug the arcade-style gameplay, the hilarity that some matches can have, and more. But most importantly, they enjoy being able to play as many of their favorite members of the AEW roster, including characters like Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, Jon Moxley, Hikaru Shida, Kris Statlander, Jade Cargill, and more. But as many fairly note, a large part of the AEW isn’t in the game, including many who are “current stars” with the company.
One of those stars is the “One True King of Television,” Samoa Joe. Joe has been a star in wrestling for some time, making his name in places like Ring of Honor and Impact Wrestling before heading to NXT and dominating it. His run on the mainline WWE roster wasn’t the best due to injuries and bad booking, but things changed for the better once he came to AEW. He instantly helped breathe life back into the newly reborn Ring of Honor with his return to the brand and helped elevate AEW in many ways. He was even one of the many superstars used to highlight their new program, AEW Collision.
But as noted, AEW Fight Forever is something you won’t find him in. Part of this is due to when he arrived in AEW compared to when the game was made. It wouldn’t be easy to put him in the title then, but the DLC is another story. He fully admitted to ComicBook.com that if he was to be put in the DLC, he’d be fine with it:
