As part of Gamescom's Opening Night Live event, Xbox Game Studios announced that its strategy game Age Of Empires 4 is finally coming to Xbox after two years of being on PC. It will be a part of Xbox Game Pass, and it'll be playable today, August 22, at 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET.
The announcement trailer opened up with a wide shot of an army getting ready for battle, and as it goes on, we're given glimpses of how certain gameplay mechanics work. The trailer showcases how you'll be able to build your bases by utilizing the d-pad and A, B, X, and Y buttons.
Age of Empires 4 will feature a new user interface for console players and new tutorials designed for beginners. If you don't want to use your controller to play, you'll also have the option to play with a keyboard and mouse.
Age Of Empire 4 originally came out in 2021. In our Age of Empire 4 review, Darryn Bonthuys wrote, «Dated graphics, annoying AI, and a thin selection of content holds Age of Empires IV back from establishing an RTS kingdom that can stand the test of time, but thrilling campaigns, a passion for history, and factions that feel truly distinct from one another makes for satisfying RTS comfort feud.»
