Ryan Reynolds wished his Spiritedco-star Will Ferrell a happy birthday with a Step Brothers tribute. Ferrell recently turned 55 on July 16. After working as a stand-up comic, the beloved comedian's acting career began on Saturday Night Live, where he was a cast member from 1995 until 2002. After leaving the show, Ferrell's career took off as he began to make a name for himself as a movie star.
Ferrell is primarily known for his comedies, many of which were collaborations with director Adam McKay. He starred opposite Ben Stiller in Zoolander and played the title roles in Elf and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. He then demonstrated his talents for drama and voice acting in Stranger Than Fiction and Dreamwork's animated Megamind, respectively. Ferrell also starred in McKay's hit comedy Step Brothers with John C. Reilly. In that movie, Ferrell performed «Por Ti Volaré», the Spanish translation of opera singer Andrea Bocelli's signature song, during the stepbrothers' most triumphant moment.
