Following Reynolds' alleged leaking of Deadpool test footage, the Merc with a Mouth made his faithfully irreverent debut in 2016—which grossed over $784 million at the international box office and warranted Deadpool 2 in 2018. Deadpool's success paved the way for 2017's Logan, Jackman's R-rated, well-deserved swan song. After operating under a PG-13 rating for nearly two decades, Wolverine was finally able to «ride [Reynolds'] coattails with the R rating], drop F-bombs, and embrace the violence customary of Weapon X. With a 2.1 billion total, those films are some of the highest-grossing R-rated blockbusters of all time. In 2019, Disney acquired Fox, and now, Deadpool, Deadpool 2, and Logan are being added to Disney+.
