Metal Gear Solid fans may be made to wait a little longer for the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, as PS Plus insider turned general leaker Billbil-Kun has shared word of a new 2025 release window for the game. In a new article on Dealabs, they claim the date comes from a «global distribution giant». Unannounced release timings from retailers can always be quite flaky, but on Billbil-Kun's end, they say more official information is coming shortly.
The leaker reveals a «new announcement will take place within the next 10 days», and pre-orders will be available right after the reveal. They say there'll be a standard edition at $69.99 and a collector's edition for $199.99.
As for where the game might show up during the Summer Game Fest season right around the corner, either the Xbox Games Showcase or the SGF live show itself seem most likely. While Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater was originally announced during a PlayStation Showcase, it then appeared later on an Xbox Partner Preview livestream. Last night's State of Play has already been and gone now so Sony isn't showing it again.
Like Silent Hill 2 from Konami — which was dated for 8th October last night — it was thought the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 might also come out in 2024 after both titles appeared in a Sony trailer at the start of the year teasing what's to come. According to Billbil-Kun, this is no longer the case.
