ROG Phone 5s series is coming to India! The beefed-up variants of the ROG Phone 5 is coming to India as the latest smartphone offering from Asus. These phones have already been on sale in certain global markets and are now coming to India. A media invite reveals the launch date to be on February 15 via an online livestream event at 12 pm. Note that these phones are not based on the latest generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset.
The ROG Phone 5s and ROG Phone 5s Pro are essentially the same phone, except for variations to the RAM, storage, and the rear Matrix display. The ROG Phone 5s comes with the option of 8GB, 12GB, 16GB, and 18GB LPDDR5 RAM whereas the ROG Phone 5s Pro only comes with 18GB LPDDR5 RAM. The 5s only comes with UFS 3.1 storage in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB configurations, whereas the Pro variant comes with only 512GB UFS 3.1 storage.
Both the ROG Phone 5s and ROG Phone 5s Pro feature a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a Gorilla Glass Victus protection. You get a refresh rate of 144Hz, a touch sampling rate of 360Hz, and a peak brightness of 1200 nits.
Both phones rely on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ chipset that promises faster performance when compared to the older Snapdragon 888 chipset. Similar to the ROG Phone 5, the phone will have a 6000mAh battery with support for 65W fast wired charging.
These models also carry over the same camera setup from the standard ROG Phone 5. For the rear cameras, there is a 64MP primary camera, a 13MP ultra-wide camera, and a 5MP macro camera. The selfie camera sensor is set at 24MP.
