Remember that countdown clock that Capcom had running? Turns out everyone was right when they suggested that it was building up to the reveal of the next game in the Street Fighter series. Street Fighter 6 was officially announced at the conclusion of the Capcom Pro Tour Finals. Unfortunately for those glued to the clock, the countdown was supposed to end at 9 pm PST, but remained locked till after the tournament ended.
Not much has been revealed in the 40-second trailer besides Luke squaring off against a very sweaty and very broad Ryu. We don't know when it will launch, what platforms it will be on, or who else will feature in the game. All Capcom has told us is "More Street Fighter 6 news coming Summer 2022."

Luke was the final character to be added to the Street Fighter 5 roster, and some believe he will be the new face of the series moving forward. Perhaps that's why he appears to be so cocky in front of Ryu. Considering rivals like Mortal Kombat and Tekken have turned the spotlight over to newer, younger characters, Capcom may also be hinting that Ryu will take a back seat.
Earlier in January, the developer teased that a new Street Fighter project might be on the way. "Street Fighter will celebrate its 35th anniversary in 2022! Together with everyone who supports us, we have created a logo that will make the 35th anniversary exciting," wrote Capcom (with translation courtesy of Google). "Please look forward to the future development of the Street Fighter series!" Not many were convinced by the cryptic wording of the tweet, but the introduction of the countdown clock eventually started getting the Street Fighter 6 rumours swirling.
