The Andy Warhol Diaries begins to take shape with its first official trailer. Netflix shared the release date of March 9, 2022, less than a week ago, revealing a few additional shreds of information. Namely, the promotional poster was front and center, and the intention that the docuseries would aim to discover who the iconic Andy Warhol was apart from his revolutionary artwork. It would do so by using rare footage and deciphering Warhol's personal transcribed diary entries from his memoirs, The Andy Warhol Diaries, as edited by Pat Hackett.
With the trailer, Netflix has unveiled the first exclusive look at the new docuseries, which appears to utilize a wealth of older footage to tell its story. The video credits Executive Producer Ryan Murphy (American Horror Story) and director Andrew Rossi (After Truth: Disinformation and the Cost of Fake News). It appears as if the creative team will dive deep into particular aspects of Warhol's life, like his relationship with Catholicism, near-assassination in 1968, and his affection toward Jean-Michel Basquiat. Interestingly, the trailer also claims that Warhol's words — presumably from his memoirs — are recreated using AI technology to serve as a narrative device in the series. Check out the trailer below:

Alongside Murphy, Rossi and several others produce the series, including Josh Braun, Stanley Buchthal, Alexis Martin Woodall, and Scott Robertson. They will attempt to provide the most exhaustive investigation of Warhol to date, to uncover the artist behind some of the world's most innovative contemporary pop art.
