A recent update from Niantic for Pokémon GO has given a roadmap planned for 2022, including improvements to Community Days and the GO Battle League. In the past several years, Pokémon GO has made foundational changes to gameplay, encouraging fans to keep playing safely from a distance. However, the game's original design was meant to encourage exercise and socialization among Pokémon fans, and it appears the roadmap for 2022 will help reinvigorate these aspects of the game.
Pokémon GO has already started the year with numerous events, including Community Days focused on specific Pokémon and Holiday-themed events introducing new species to the game's available Pokédex. The upcoming Pokémon GO Tour: Johto, which will be occurring on February 26, gives players access to Johto Legendary Pokémon in Raid Battles and features common Pokémon species during spotlight hours throughout the day. While the Johto Tour will require players to purchase a ticket to access everything the event has to offer, it will likely be an exciting way for Pokémon GO players to get out and enjoy the warming weather.
