RHONY: Leah McSweeney Reveals She Was In ‘Psych Ward’ In Emotional IG Post
Real Housewives of New York City star Leah McSweeney opened up about her mental health in an emotional Instagram post saying that she was in a psych ward at a certain point. The 39 year old first appeared on RHONY season 12 of the reality franchise, but producers might fire Leah and Ramona Singer following low show ratings. Still, Leah has struck a chord with viewers for her fiery and unapologetic personality.
Leah provided a breath of fresh air to the New York City cast, with an open and bold attitude and refreshingly honest take on sex and mental health. From the outset, Leah has been candid and upfront about her previous struggles with mental health and invited fans to get a glimpse of her family life and past. On Monday Leah posted an Instagram of herself getting her hair and makeup done, overlayed with text focused on her mental health. “16 year old me would be shocked that I’m still alive… 20 year old me would think I was crazy for having a baby at 24,” she wrote, “30 year old me would be saddened to know I end up in a psych ward.” Leah included positive notes in the post, adding, «24 year old me would be proud at the way I've raised my daughter.» The post was captioned, “Keep going #recovery #healing #mentalhealth #trauma #addiction.”
