RHONY: Luann de Lesseps Admits Sobriety Has Been Hard The Last Two Years
The Real Housewives of New York City star Luann de Lesseps has been in the headlines recently for her drunken behavior at the Upper East Side piano bar The Townhouse and she shared that she has been struggling with her sobriety for the last couple of years. Fans have watched Countess Luann on RHONY since season 1 and she always portrayed herself with elegance and class. However, Luann was also not afraid to let loose and have fun, such as the time she got drunk in Mexico during a cast trip and fell in the bushes. Fans thought that the scene was hilarious and it became an iconic RHONY moment.
Throughout her years on RHONY, Luann has shared her many ups and downs candidly on camera. After her divorce from Count Alexandre de Lesseps in 2009, Luann thought she found love with Tom D’Agostino in 2017. Unfortunately for Luann, fellow RHONY star Bethenny Frankel revealed that Tom was caught making out with another woman at an NYC bar. Luann and Tom divorced a short seven months after their nuptials. A year after their marriage, Luann was arrested in Palm Beach after being disorderly drunk in public and threatening a police officer. Following her arrest, Luann began her sobriety journey.

Luann shared with David Yontef on his podcast Behind the Velvet Rope that getting kicked out of the NYC piano bar Townhouse was “an ego bruiser” and the last couple of years had been hard on her sobriety. She admitted, “Falling off the wagon is part of recovery and you know, I’m a very public person. And so, you know, the whole world is going to know about it and it’s a struggle.
