Eboni K. Williams is speaking out on The Real Housewives of New York City spin-off and has an idea why Bravo decided to split the original series into two. Fans met Eboni for the first time during RHONY season 13 as the show's first black housewife. Rumors had been swirling about her role on the show for some time, with viewers excited to see some diversity in the cast. However, things took a turn for the worst with Ramona Singer when Eboni hosted the infamous Black Shabbat.
Fans were quick to turn against Ramona as she made some inappropriate comments throughout the dinner, such as overshadowing a women's racial prejudices she faced during pregnancy to her own. After this episode, it was clear RHONY season 13 was going downhill and later ended abruptly. With the reunion already delayed, it was then revealed there would be no season 13 reunion.

While on a recent episode of Stitcher's Reality with The King podcast, Eboni opened up about why she thinks the RHONY Legacy series was created, ultimately splitting RHONY into two different shows. "I feel I was more than willing the whole season [...] I was always willing to negotiate with my former castmates about what an ensemble future could look like that included all of us," the 38-year-old told host Carlos King. "They were unwilling to come to the table and meet me even halfway in that negotiation." Eboni added that if there is one thing she knows about business, it's that "you can't close" without some sort of negotiation. Ultimately, Eboni believes the other ladies' unwillingness to negotiate on anything led to the idea and announcement of a RHONY Legacy series.
