Resident Evil 9 is said to be revealed pretty soon, and the game will allegedly still be released next year.
Last week we reported that the next entry in the popular Capcom franchise was internally delayed and that another game in the series could very well be released before it. This information came from renowned Capcom leaker Dusk Golem, who spoke on The Snitch's Discord server. Fast forward one week and Dusk Golet has recanted his previous claim of a delay. If what the leaker has now heard is true, Capcom is targeting a January 2025 release for the game. With a release supposedly coming in a little over 6 months, Capcom is said to be revealing the game pretty soon.
"I have good news/rumors to deliver on Resident Evil 9", the leaker writes on X. "The possible delay I had heard murmurs about can be pushed aside. RE9 should be revealed pretty soon & release next year. If what I heard previously holds true, should be in January. It'll have had about 7 years in dev."
Dusk Golem added, "January 2025 I hadn't heard now, just been a date I'd heard previously they probably are still aiming for, but never know in game dev."
We've included some additional posts from the leaker from today below:
Resident Evil 9 has been said to be in development since 2018. The entry will supposedly offer an open-world design in a similar fashion as Dragon's Dogma 2.
Although we can't be certain that Dusk Golem is right on the money with this one, it's an interesting update about Resident Evil 9 for sure. We'll update you as soon as we learn more about the next Resident Evil entry.
