With the latest hotfix intended to smooth out the difficulty curve between Heroic and Mythic raids in MoP Remix, there appears to be an unintended consequence: bosses scale with item level! As a result, deleting relatively low value pieces of gear like rings, neck, and trinkets to reduce your item level can make bosses significantly easier without impacting player power nearly as much!

Unlike other pieces of gear that go up to 556 item level, Timerunner's Seal, Timerunner's Ring, Timerunner's Amulet, Timerunner's Beacon, and Timerunner's Idol provide no innate stats and are all capped at 342 item level. Because power is only being gained from gems which can be combined and slotted elsewhere, those pieces contribute relatively little player power, while removing them can reduce boss scaling by up to 33%. For a fully upgraded player, removing these pieces will drop them down to 369, just below the lowest boss scaling threshold.
