Capcom has published a new Resident Evil 4 remake gameplay video and confirmed plans for a demo and post-launch Mercenaries mode.
Debuted during a PlayStation State of Play live stream on Thursday, the new Resident Evil 4 trailer sees protagonist Leon in various situations throughout his fight for survival.
“For those of you who played the original game, you might recognize some of the scenes,” promotion producer Edvin Edsö told the PlayStation Blog. “Drama! Action! New gameplay! Let us know what secrets you found hidden within the new footage.”

The trailer also officially announces the return of The Mercenaries game mode. “The team is hard at work on The Mercenaries, which will be available as free post-launch DLC,” Edsö wrote.
“Finally, we announced an upcoming demo for Resident Evil 4. This demo will be available on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in the near future. Get ready to take on the demo, as ‘survival is just the beginning’.”
Announced last year, RE4 remake will release on March 24, 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and PC via Steam. The game will also support PlayStation VR2.
According to Capcom, Resident Evil 4 remake will preserve the essence of the original game, while “introducing modernized gameplay, a reimagined storyline, and vividly detailed graphics”.
