The Village Chief's House is one of the places that you'll visit early on in Resident Evil 4. You'll reach it after clearing the Mountain Village and Factory, passing a wooded area that takes you to this secluded location. Here's our Resident Evil 4 guide to help you with the Village Chief's House Puzzle and the Insignia Key.
The front door of the Village Chief's House in Resident Evil 4 is locked, so you'll have to enter through the back. Watch out for bear traps, and a pretty angry zomboid that might surprise you. You'll find some goodies, such as some files, a Small Key, and a Red Herb next to a Typewriter. However, the important item here is a note on a dresser on the second floor, as it talks about the offerings of various citizens:
The old farmer, his finest crop.
The slight swineherd, his stoutest pig.
The beggarly grandam, her beloved babe.
With the above in mind, head back to the ground floor and check the old cabinet. Input the three symbols in the following order: Wheat -> Pig -> Baby. This will let you solve the Resident Evil 4 Village Chief's House Puzzle. You can claim the Crystal Marble, but watch out for the Plaga Village Elder that shows up.
Go back to the second floor and place the Crystal Marble in the door's niche. Then, rotate the pattern until it matches the crest. You may then pick up the Insignia Key from the drawer. This will lead to a cutscene and the conclusion of the chapter.
But, you're not quite done. There are a few important tidbits to consider now that you have the Resident Evil 4 Insignia Key. Here's the gist:
