Redfall revealed in February that it will require an internet connection to play even for single-player, and only yesterday, it announced that it's sticking with Denuvo DRM despite the backlash. Today, it has drawn more controversy among gamers because it won't have a performance mode on launch for consoles.
The official Redfall Twitter account revealed that it's launching on Xbox Series X with 4k 30fps and on Series S with 1440p 30fps. A performance option for 60fps "will be added via [a] game update at a later date", though it doesn't specify when this date is.

In comparison, Deathloop had four different options on launch. It came with the following modes: Performance (4k 60fps), Visual Quality (dynamic 4k 60fps), Ray Tracing (dynamic 4k 30fps), and Ultra Performance (1080p, 120fps, and VRR). We may see similar options added over time, but on launch, you'll have to get used to 30fps unless you have a beefy PC rig.
The minimum recommended specs for Redfall on PC are 16 GB of RAM, a GTX 1070 or AMD RX 580, and an Intel Core i5-8400 or an AMD Ryzen 5 1600. If you want to get to 60fps, you'll need better specs, so it's shaping up to be a fairly demanding game. However, 30fps is proving to be a dealbreaker for many, as the quote retweets and comments on the announcement are filled with upset at the news.
