Arken Studios has been showing off its upcoming open world shooter Redfall quite a bit in recent days, with trailers showcasing its playable characters, gameplay videos offering glimpses of what the FPS will have in store for players, and more. And though the response to its showings has largely been positive, the newest detail on the game revealed by the developers is likely to catch a fair bit of flak.
Arkane has confirmed that when Redfall launches early next month, it will only have a Quality Mode on Xbox Series X/S, which means 60 FPS will not be an option players will be able to opt for. On Xbox Series X, the game will run at 4K and 30 FPS, while on Xbox Series S, it will run at 1440p and 30 FPS.
According to Arkane, a 60 FPS Performance Mode will be added to the game via a post-launch update “at a later date”. Previously, the developer also said it is looking to remove the game’s always-online requirement when playing solo after its release.
Redfall launches on May 2 for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
