Red Dead Redemption 2 just released a new surprise update, fixing several bugs and improving FSR. But to the community's dismay, there's still no 60fps option.
"Rockstar continuing to refuse to release a 60fps patch for RDR2 on PS5/XSX years after release is just crazy to me," @that1detectiv3 tweeted. "Plus no major content update for their newest title in almost three years. They really seem to hate this game".
"It blows my mind that they won't just do a 60fps patch to Series X and PS5," Snoddy2Hotty91 said. "Imagine the people that would play Online if it ran better and they made more Battle Pass things."
Last year, a modder got Red Dead Redemption 2 running at 60fps on PS5, showing that the game and console are capable of handling the upped framerate. However, Rockstar may instead do something similar to what we saw with GTA 5. Current-gen features weren't included in a free update, but instead, a separate, paid version of the game called the "Enhanced Edition".
Red Dead Online stopped receiving major updates two years ago as Rockstar shifted its focus to Grand Theft Auto 6 which is set to launch next year. Perhaps we'll see a current-gen update for RDR2 after it releases, but until Rockstar says anything, we can only speculate.
As reported by IGN, the full list of patch notes is as follows:
As a prequel to the original game, Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption 2 sees you take the role of Arthur Morgan - an outlaw looking for redemption - as he and the Van der Linde gang are on the run, in a time where the Wild West is diminishing.
