In fall 2022, Queer Eye's culture consultant Karamo Brown is getting his very own daytime talk show. While most fans were introduced to Karamo on Netflix's reboot of Queer Eye For The Straight Guy, heactually wasn't a stranger to the world of television. He starred on MTV's The Real World back in 2004, making him the first openly gay Black man on reality TV. From there, Karamo went on to work in social work and psychotherapy, which led him to be the culture expert on Queer Eye. Despite that work, Karamo still had spots on various TV shows throughout the years. From hosting Access Hollywood Live to competing on Dancing With The Stars, Karamo's always been open about his love of television.
In 2020, Karamo was on and began hosting episodes of the reality TV staple Maury, a fitting show considering back in 2007 he found he was the father of a child of his own back when he was 15, though his previous girlfriend didn't tell him. By the time he found out, 10 years had passed. Karamo immediately took full custody and formed a relationship with his children, viewing his son's step-brother as his child as well. The mother of his children has been incredibly supportive, and the pair has been able to co-parent seamlessly since the discovery. But given this experience, he was more than qualified to host the show.
