European mobile game publisher and developer MY.GAMES announced the global launch of Castle Duels: Tower Defense on Monday. The PVP tower defense game launched in beta in July, surpassing 1 million downloads before its full release.
“Castle Duels is designed for players seeking fast, intense, and highly engaging gameplay,” said Lead Project Manager Aleksei Moshkovich. “We’re thrilled to see how the community has embraced the game, with the player base growing rapidly since launch.”
Players must balance attack and defense as they assault the enemy castle while defending their own. The game features 30 unique units, including mages, minotaur, and more. Units come in four standard ranks, and players can merge them into a fifth “super-merge rank.” These enhance units with new abilities and more powerful attacks. The game also features a faction modifier system, and players can choose between random Battle Boosts after each round.
Given that “Duels” is in the title, Castle Duels multiplayer focus should be no surprise. The game offers both PVP and cooperative battles. Players can also form or join Clans after unlocking Arena 2. This unlocks clan rewards, card-sharing, training battles, and Clan Tournaments. The latter are multi-stage events where Clans unlock rewards by earning points and completing quests.
MY.GAMES has also emphasized that Castle Duels is completely ad-free, though there are in-game purchases. The latter has attracted criticism from players who feel the game is pay-to-win. Still, those who want to try it out can download the game from Google Play and the App Store. Players who own other MY.GAMES titles will also get a promo code for one epic card, three rare cards, 50 crystals, and 1,000 Gold coins.
