The Punisher officially has a new title in the Marvel Universe, as the antihero is now officially the Fist of the Beast. In Punisher #2 by Marvel Comics, Frank Castle's allegiance with The Hand takes its next evolution as he becomes the Fist of a Beast. The new title might seem strange, but it's all part of the Punisher's arrangement to bring his wife back to life and potentially his entire family.
Marvel Comics has made a concerted effort to take the Punisher in a brand new direction after real-life bad actors made his iconic skull logo a symbol of hatred. In the new Punisher series, Frank Castle agreed to work alongside The Hand and become one of its deadliest killers. Why would he make such a drastic change? The Hand promised Castle the chance to be with his dead-wife Maria, as they resurrected her in exchange for him becoming the Fist of the Beast, the demonic beast the organization worships. Now, Marvel's Punisher is officially getting the title.

In Punisher #2 by Jason Aaron, Jesus Saiz, Paul Azaceta, Dave Stewart, and VC's Cory Petit, the Punisher joins the Archpriestess of The Hand, who has been recruiting Frank Castle since he was a child. Believing he will become the greatest killer in history, Castle's new connection with The Beast allows him to gain the Five Gifts of the Fist, including seeing his enemies' past and future sins. After his new powers manifest, the Archpriestess reveals his awakening has begun as his dark visions allow him to pick the correct sword formerly wielded by the last known Fist of the Hand.
