The latest PlayStation State of Play event gave us a fresh look at Horizon Call of the Mountain, a spin-off game coming exclusively to PSVR 2. The lengthy trailer showed the reclaimed world of Horizon through a new perspective, as you saw it all in first-person.
That new perspective appears to make a big difference to elements like climbing and combat. From the looks of it, being eye level with a Watcher or Behemoth is a lot more intimidating than being over Aloy's shoulder.
The trailer also gave some hints at the story, as we saw other characters interacting with your player avatar, as well as some narration. The narration implies that you're searching to find out why the machines are attacking--a mystery that has already been solved by Aloy in the mainline games.
Horizon Call of the Mountain was first announced back in January with a short teaser trailer, and it's described as being in the «world of Horizon» but doesn't appear to star Aloy. The first-person game's first teaser showed a group of explorers floating down a river in a boat as a Tallneck approached, nearly stepping on them and sending them to a watery grave.
No release date has been announced for Call of the Mountain. The game is in development at Guerrilla Games as well as Firesprite, a VR-specializing studio that has also worked onThe Playroom VR and The Persistence.
