Sarah Catherine Hook and Imani Lewis star opposite each other as a vampire and monster-hunter in Netflix'sFirst Kill. Hook's character, Juliette Fairmont looks to fulfill her family legacy by achieving her first kill, though falls in love with Lewis' Calliope Burns in the process. As the youngest daughters of families on contending sides of the strife between vampires and humans, Juliette and Calliope must defy their blood ties and create their own sense of belonging between each other.
Hook is best known for her role in 2021's The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It. She has also appeared inAmerican Crime Story and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Prior to First Kill, Lewis has notably featured in Bo Burnham's Eighth Grade and the Netflix film Vampires vs. the Bronx.

Screen Rant attended a press roundtable with Hook and Lewis. The pair discussed Juliette and Calliope's romance, as well as the importance of First Kill's LGBTQ representation.
Imani, throughout the series, you struggle with trying to find your place within your family, and being the youngest, it's kind of hard because everyone does it better or they've done it first. What was it like bringing that type of story to life?
Imani Lewis: It was incredibly interesting. I grew up an only child, so I grew up with a certain sense of independence, and confidence, and sureness of self because I was always with myself. So I definitely found myself applying that to Calliope's character — that sense of independence and self-awareness. It was so awesome that even though she's the youngest and she's the only daughter in the family, I see so many of her brothers' and her parents'
