There have been many rumors floating around about the PS5 Pro and what the specs might be for this console. However, if the rumors are true, then that means the CPU for the Pro console will only have a slight improvement from the normal PS5 everyone has now. But Kepler, who is an AMD insider, has said that this could mean the next-generation console is going to be backwards compatibility and that they are keeping that in mind while making this upgraded PS5 console.
“The way Sony handles BC is very complex, and it requires the new HW to run at the same or higher clock speed, even if the new HW is faster at lower clock speeds. If they are using Zen6 dense cores for PS6, they can’t target 4GHz+ for the PS5 Pro as that could break BC.”
There is a lot that needs to be said next. The PS5 Pro console is only a rumor and hasn’t been announced yet. Everything that has been circling the internet involving this speculated console is nothing but a rumor. While some believe that this console is currently in the making and will be released in late 2024, Sony hasn’t confirmed any of it. While we do know there will be a sixth console at some point, we don’t know what Sony has planned for it so far.
With all that being said, it would be really cool to get a console such as the PS5 Pro and an upcoming PS6, but right now none of these are confirmed.
