The April PS Plus games have leaked and it’s looking like a pretty unexciting line-up, even if it does include indie classic Slay The Spire.
If the rumours are correct, then Sony is set to announce its equivalent of Xbox Game Pass this week. They haven’t said anything official though and there’s nothing in the latest leaked list of PlayStation Plus games to suggest anything unusual is happening this month.
The only way April’s line-up seems in anyway different is that there’s not really any big name games, although 2019 indie title Slay The Spire is very good.
The leak comes from French website Dealabs and while there’s no guarantee they’re accurate, the site has proven very reliable when it comes to PS Plus over the last few months – although there’s nothing to say there won’t be a last minute change of plan on Sony’s part.
Hood: Outlaws & Legends is a four-player co-op game loosely based around the legend of Robin Hood. It’s by Sackboy: A Big Adventure developer Sumo Digital but made little impact when it was released last year, although being free with PS Plus should help its player numbers.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle For Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated is a remaster of an old PlayStation 2 game, that never really deserved such attention but is still one of the better games based on the series.
Slay The Spire is the real highlight though, a card-based rougelike that sounds less appealing the more you explain it but is one of the best indie titles of recent years and hugely compelling once you get to grips with how it works.
There’s no pretending it’s a particularly exciting line-up though so it’s going to be interesting to see how much future months will be shaken up by whatever Sony is about to announce.
