Franchise newcomer Miona revealed her ethnicity after 90 Day Fiancé fans accused Jibri Bell’s partner of practicing blackfishing. 23-year-old Miona hails from Nis, Serbia according to the TLC show. 28-year-old Jibri, frontman of the band Black Serbs met Miona while he was on one of his usual tours to her country. Miona gave Jibri butterflies in his stomach and she also said yes to his proposal during a romantic Thai getaway. But makeup artist Miona wanted to come to America to work in Los Angeles, and Jibri disappointed her by moving to South Dakota before Miona’s arrival on the K-1 visa.

Miona’s clothes were heavily criticized by Jibri’s mom Mahala in 90 Day Fiancé season 9 premier episode. Mahala ridiculed Miona by saying she was practically naked on social media. Jibri’s mom told the producers that Miona was dressing in a certain way to attract sexual attention which in turn made the matriarch uncomfortable. Jibri defended Miona's Instagram behavior by claiming that the half-naked pictures are just a part of her social media persona. But it wasn't Miona's clothes that bothered viewers. Photos of Miona from years ago are being compared to her recent pictures, and fans saw noticeable differences in Miona’s skin tone, lips, and hair.
