Poppy Playtime starts with a cryptic note urging the player to "Find The Flower," and while the flower is theorized to be Poppy, it's possible that she's not. It's a minor detail, one that's easy to overlook, but it may be the key to the series' plot and the horrifying human experiments that created Huggy Wuggy, Mommy Long Legs, and Poppy herself. If the flower really isn't her, then Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 or a later game could stun players by revealing its true identity.
The final goal of Poppy Playtime Chapter 1 is to free the titular doll, Poppy, from her display case deep in the Playtime Co. toy factory. After they've done so, they attempt to escape only to be thwarted and put through a series of challenges by Mommy Long Legs in Poppy Playtime Ch. 2. In the end, Poppy betrays the player and sends them to an area known as «Playcare,» but a train crash knocks them unconscious en route. Before she can tell the player character the reason for her deception, her speech is cut off and she's presumably abducted, possibly by the main monster of Poppy Playtime Chapter 3.

If Poppy isn't the flower mentioned in the letter, then that raises the question of who or what it actually is. There don't seem to be many viable candidates among the known characters and monster toys introduced so far, which leaves almost nothing but speculation. Small clues and secrets scattered throughout Playtime Co. may offer clues, however, such as Poppy PlaytimeChapter 2's statues and other collectibles.
