It's likely that Poppy Playtime Ch. 3 will pick up where the second chapter ended: the Playcare. Unless a toy monster decides to move the player character while they're unconscious, then they'll be waking up in what seems to be Playtime Co.'s deceptively innocuous Playcare. The term Playcare is a cute play on words for a daycare, but after learning about Playtime Co.'s experiments inPoppy Playtime Ch. 2, players should expect the Playcare to be anything except cute.

Poppy Playtime Ch.2 continues the player's search for answers as to what really happened to the Playtime Co. employees who vanished a decade ago. The main antagonist for the second chapter, Mommy Long Legs, makes the player participate in games in exchange for pieces of the train code that the player can later use to operate the train in the playground area. Despite the player's hopes to escape the Playtime Co. factory, Poppy Playtime Ch. 2 ends with a train wreck.

With Poppy Playtime Ch. 2 giving only a glimpse of the Playcare before the player falls unconscious at the end, much of what awaits players in the next chapter remains unknown. However, the information players gather through notes and VHS tapes in the second chapter offers plenty of fuel for speculation. The notes give information about the scores of the children from the playground area games, and one mentions that all of those scores were given to Stella Greyber, who might've become Kissy Missy.
