Super Bomberman R 2 Announced for Switch Next Year

Super Bomberman R 2 is an action maze game that will be the newest entry in the Super Bomberman R video game series. Super Bomberman R 2 is a direct sequel to the latest game in the series titled Super Bomberman R. The game releases next year on not only the Nintendo Switch but the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, the Xbox Series X/S, and PC through Steam.

Super Bomberman R 2 was revealed on the Nintendo Direct Mini with a trailer showing some animation and gameplay. The animation gives a brief glimpse of the whimsical action-packed single-player story. It shows that a new villain has emerged after the events of Super Bomberman R and is threatening the universe, and it's up to the 8 Bomber Brothers to stop them. The new villain remains a mystery for now, but the Bomber Brothers are up to the task of saving the Universe once again.
The gameplay shown in the trailer reveals the core gameplay as well as some new additions that will be introduced in Super Bomberman R 2 next year. The game will feature a new game mode or battle mode called «Castle» that has one player versus fifteen players. Players compete for treasure and are divided into two teams, the «Attack Side» with the attacking players trying to take the treasure on the stage, and the «Castle Side» with the defending player trying to protect the treasure from the other players.
