Pokemon Home has now opened up to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
While Pokemon Scarlet and Violet released in a poor state when it comes to performance, it sold in the same scale as The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
It’s an absolutely strange parallel to have, when you consider how far apart Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom are when it comes to performance on the Nintendo Switch.
However, the Pokemon faithful did not waver, and in turn Game Freak and Pokemon Company have continued to publish events and Tera raids. As of this writing, Pokemon Company have still not been able to push an update to fix all the performance issues on Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. It’s a disservice to the game’s userbase, but perhaps those players kept on playing knowing something like this was waiting for them.
Now, as reported on Video Games Chronicle, Pokemon Home will be updated to version 3.0.0. After this update, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players will have the ability to send their Pokemon over to Pokemon Home, for safekeeping until the next Pokemon game.
The official Pokemon account then announced the downtime period needed for Pokemon Home’s next update. From May 29, 2023, at 5 PM PT, to May 30, 2023, at 11 PM PT, Pokemon Home will not be available to use.
While neither Pokemon Company or Nintendo have made any announcements, it is possible that this will be the last new Pokemon game for Nintendo Switch. Subsequently, this could be the last Pokemon game on the Nintendo Switch that will be enabled to work with Pokemon Home.
