Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the showrunner behind HBO Max's Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, confirms A's identity will be revealed by the end of season 1. After several failed spin-offs, the iconic YA franchise Pretty Little Liars, which started with Sara Shepard's hit novels, has returned via a sequel series on HBO Max. Original Sinfollows a new group of Little Liars in the town of Millwood as they unravel the misdeeds of their mothers and are targeted by a frightening new A. The show features a star-studded cast of new liars, including Bailee Madison, Chandler Kinney, Zaria, Malia Pyles, and Mallory Bechtel.

Furthermore, having such a strong buildup was known to cause the eventual A reveal to be quite anticlimactic, with many expecting much more. However, this appears to be something that Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin will improve upon.
