Moon Knight and the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hint that a new type of war is coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This thematic change will stand in contrast to the first three phases, which were largely grounded in reality and on Earth, with a few key exceptions. With the multiverse becoming an increasingly major part of several TV shows and films within the MCU, a new conflict is coming, and it may be unlike anything seen during the time of Thanos and the Infinity Saga.
Marc Spector is the latest avatar to Khonshu, the Egyptian god of the moon, who transforms him into the vigilante known as Moon Knight. Marc also has dissociative identity disorder, with a second personality known as Steven Grant, who works at a museum gift shop in London. Moon Knight's magic is just one type of sorcery within the MCU. The most obvious magic user is Doctor Strange, the former Sorcerer Supreme and the Master of the Mystic Arts. He is trained by the Ancient One in the ways of Eldritch magic and the multiverse. However, other forms of magic also exist within the MCU, such as the chaos magic wielded by Scarlet Witch in WandaVision and the Asgardian magic used by Loki and Sylvie.
