Oscar Isaac reveals that Moon Knight's Marvel Cinematic Universe future «doesn't matter so much» to the star and praises the show's standalone nature. Isaac stars in the Disney+ series as Marc Spector, a mercenary living with dissociative identity disorder who becomes the human conduit for the Egyptian moon god Khonshu along with his alternate, mild-mannered gift shop employee Steven Grant. The two must find a way to use the powers of Moon Knight to put a stop to the religious zealot Arthur Harrow in his quest to cleanse the Earth with the powers of the Egyptian goddess Ammit.
Alongside Isaac, the cast for Moon Knight includes Ethan Hawke as Harrow, May Calamawy, Karim El Hakim, Ann Akinjirin, Khalid Abdalla and F. Murray Abraham as the voice of Khonshu. Developed by The Umbrella Academy's Jeremy Slater, the series has received generally positive reviews from critics for its performances and darker tone, though it did see the lowest-rated series premiere of any MCU title on Disney+ with just over 418 million minutes streamed. With the character now introduced into the MCU, many are already looking to what the future could hold for Moon Knight, though one star is keeping his options open.
