Moon Knight star Ethan Hawke reveals his favorite performance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Known for various supporting roles over the years, including his Academy Award-nominated performances in 2001's Training Day and 2014's Boyhood, Hawke makes his MCU debut in the newest Marvel series, Moon Knight, as the primary antagonist Arthur Harrow. The Disney+ show primarily focuses on Oscar Isaac as a mercenary living with Dissociative Identity Disorder who becomes the human avatar for the Egyptian moon god Khonshu.
Isaac leads the cast of Moon Knight alongside May Calamawy, Karim El Hakim, Ann Akinjirin, David Ganly, Khalid Abdalla, Gaspard Ulliel, and F. Murray Abraham as the voice of Khonshu. Over six episodes, the show has followed the two alters of Isaac's character, Steven Grant and Marc Spector, as they learn the truth about their identities and come into conflict with Harrow, a cult leader associated with the Egyptian goddess Ammit. Moon Knight has received mostly positive reviews for its depiction of mental health, darker tone, and performances from Isaac and Hawke.
