Moon Knight has turned out to be a surprise hit for Disney Plus, even considering its already elevated exposure due to its Marvel pedigree. So fans are understandably clamoring for more after that adrenaline-filled finale. But with no official word yet regarding the series' future, what can audiences expect going forward?
Well, according to some of the folks in charge of the Marvel Studios show, it might not be the same situation as other shows like Loki and Hawkeye, where follow-ups and spinoffs were announced shortly after or even before the shows aired. Moon Knight season 2 almost sounds like a sure thing after the way things left off. It's no secret that Moon Knight ended on what definitely felt like a cliffhanger stinger thanks to the death of Ethan Hawke's Arthur Harrow at the hands of Marc Spector's third personality, the ruthless Jake Lockley. But the real question is, will it be resolved somewhere else entirely?

Egyptian director Mohamed Diab, who helmed several episodes of Moon Knight, was pretty open about what he knows when asked by Deadline about another season. «We don't know if there's a next season,» Diab said plainly. «Marvel doesn't go with a conventional way, so even if they like the character and want to extend the world, it could be season 2, it could be a standalone film, or he can join another superhero's journey… I'm kept in the dark, just like the fans.» As popular as the show was, particularly due to its well-praised depiction of mental illness and trauma, it appears as though Marvel Studios still might not respond the way most studios would.
