One of Peacemaker's principal cast members breaks down the chances of a season 2 happening. James Gunn conceived the series as a spinoff of The Suicide Squad, retaining much of the same cast and focusing on the titular star, who murdered one of the film's protagonists. It launched in mid-January and is winning over fans through its ridiculous humor, unfiltered violence, and, according to Gunn, an unskippable intro song.

John Cena plays the lead, also known by his real identity Christopher Smith. The Suicide Squad stars, Steve Agee (as John Economos) and Jennifer Holland (as Agent Emilia Harcourt), return in the series, while Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma (recast as Vigilante), and Chukwudi Iwuji join the cast in new roles.
