The brand-new open-world crafting and survival game Palworld from developer Pocketpair is off to a great start, with sales surpassing one million copies in eight hours.
The Pokémon with Guns game was released in early access via Steam yesterday, and as revealed by developer Pocketpair, more than 1 million copies of the title were sold "in about" eight hours. Shortly after the game's release on Steam, the game had over 370k concurrent players, and entered into the Top 25 All-Time Peaks for a Game on Steam, thereby beating the all-time 24-hour concurrent player peak of games like GTA V, Monster Hunter World, Starfield, Halo: Infinite, Skyrim, and numerous other AAA titles.
Some hours ago, Pocketpair's game managed to surpass half a million concurrent players peak, setting the 12th highest peak for a game on Steam ever. This means that Palworld managed to beat numerous other highly-marketed AAA games like Call of Duty, Valheim, and Fallout 4. At the moment of writing, the game's all-time 24-hour concurrent player peak sits just below that of Apex Legends.
Impressive numbers for sure, and it will be interesting to see how sales of player numbers of this new hit title will evolve. We'll keep you updated.
Palworld is available via early access on PC through Steam now. The game is also available through Game Pass, albeit with limited features. We've included some of the game's key features alongside the Summer Game Fest 2023 trailer below:
