Overwatch 2 Season 9 is titled Champions, and with it comes some really cool-looking things.
For those who enjoy siphoning the life out of their enemies and using it to heal their friends, they will be pleased to see the new Mythic coming to Overwatch 2; Ancient Caller Moira. Anyone who remembers N’Zoth from World of Warcraft might think her orbs look a bit familiar, sporting the same look of the eyes just in the iconic Moira colors gold and purple. The skin itself just looks cool overall, as it gives off a creepy crawly vibe with red accents.
<p dir=«ltr» lang=«en» xml:lang=«en»>One jam-packed season of #Overwatch2 coming right up ???? Reworked Competitive Play??? New Mythic: Ancient Caller Moira?? Cosmic Crisis LTM? And SO much more! pic.twitter.com/MtkVEhzlSR — Overwatch (@PlayOverwatch) February 7, 2024With the screenshot, we also get a look at what looks like Torbjorn as Cthulhu or something similar to the cosmic entity.
There aren’t just skins coming with the season of course, there will also be a major overhaul to the Competitive Ranked system as well. Though the details of the rework are currently few and far between, we do know that the reset of the ranks will come with more transparency and accuracy as well as a new high tier rank they’re calling Champion, which of course fits the season.
A new Limited Time Mode, Cosmic Crisis, will also be making its way into Overwatch 2 Season 9, which just like the Moira skin has eyeballs that appear to be staring into the player's soul. The description of the mode simply says “Survive the unseen threat”, and though there aren’t any details at this time, it seems like it could be quite fun to try it out.
Overwatch 2 season 9 will release on February 13, 2024 with the changes that have been announced and “SO much more” according to the developers, so we will have to wait a few days to see what’s truly in store.
