A freshly released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone operator skin is nearly identical to the figure featured on Obsidian's Avowed cover art. Modern Warfare 3 had just received a mid-season refresh, which brought the popular 6v6 Vanguard map Das Haus, a collection of new crossover skins from Dune: Part 2, Godzilla x Kong, and Warhammer 40,000, and more.
Obsidian Entertainment's hotly anticipated fantasy RPG Avowed recently debuted an extended look at its gameplay during Xbox's Developer Direct in January. The footage largely focused on Avowed's combat, exploration, and quest dialogue, but the game's beautiful cover art was unveiled as well. Sporting an eggshell backdrop, Avowed's cover prominently features a ghastly skeleton in armor and a red cape, wielding a sword. Elements of oceanic nature, coral, seaweed, tree branches, leaves, and the like, cover the skeleton's body. Considering Avowed's reveal of one of its main regions, Shatterscarp, is of aquatic properties, the theme of the cover art seems fitting. Since its reveal, Avowed's cover has been the subject of much praise, so much so that Xbox has already released a free dynamic background of the cover for Xbox users in anticipation of the RPG.
Call of Duty has recently revealed a new operator skin that looks similar to the skeleton in Avowed's cover art. Called the Abberration Ultra bundle, the pack's crown jewel is the Truffle skin for Byline, which features a skeleton overgrown with coral and seaweed, strikingly similar to Avowed's cover skeleton. The bundle also includes weapon blueprints for an LMG and handgun, both with visual patterns referencing elements of Byline's Truffle skin.
