When it was released last year,Overwatch 2 received some criticism for missing some features that were key to the original game, and a fan favorite one is set to return. Overwatch 2 continued the legacy of its predecessor by carrying forward the hero roster, maps, and cosmetics that players have earned, and something else is about to be brought into the live service sequel.
Though Overwatch 2 was similar to the initial game in offering an open beta in order to tie up loose ends and gauge what kind of server traffic it would be working with on launch, some things snuck through testing. Because Blizzard is known for checking fan feedback on what may be implemented with future Overwatch 2 updates, many players have voiced their pros and cons of the hero shooter. Based on this fan feedback, Overwatch 2 has already been updated with numerous improvements, but a favorite feature has been mostly under the radar until now.

Blizzard recently confirmed through a community update called «Reflections on Overwatch 2» that the On Fire feature that the Overwatch community has asked for will be returning. The fan-favorite feature was used in Overwatch to highlight players that were doing particularly well in a match, but there hasn't been an equivalent for Overwatch 2 players to keep track of their top-performing squad mates. Beyond a visual indicator that would light up the character's portrait in the user interface, Overwatch heroes would also comment that they were on fire, letting other players around them know just how well they were doing.
