In this guide, we are going to go over beginner's tips to help you start your journey in Outward. These tips are meant to help you gather your bearing before setting out on an epic journey. Additionally, this will not contain any spoilers for the main story.
First, you should try to loot as much as possible. Unlike games like Skyrim, there is no penalty for stealing. Because of this, you can steal pretty much everything that you see.
While starting off in Cierzo, you will be able to take stuff from your own house, as well as from around town. We recommend looting as much as you can; you will find items that can be sold, as well as new weapons and outfits.
At the start of the game, you will be in Cierzo, and your main task will be to pay off your Blood Debt. This is part of the quest titled 'Call To Adventure', where you are required to pay off your Blood Debt with either 150 silver or a Writ of Tribal Favor.
We recommend completing this as quickly as possible, so you can continue on through Chersonese and explore the rest of the world.
If you do not pay off the Blood Debt, you will lose access to your Lighthouse in Cierzo, but it can be repurchased again.
To pay off your Blood Debt, you can collect items from town and in Chersonese to sell to vendors. If you choose to pay, we also suggest speaking with Helen Turnbull. This NPC will give you the quest
