Move over, Yuffie — there's only one obvious choice of star for 's DLC. Square Enix has announced that it's not planning DLC for, although developers did consider a Queen's Blood-centric expansion. Still, there's demand for a more character-focused DLC, akin to 's.

If any character is deserving of their very own DLC, it's Vincent Valentine. Much like Yuffie, Vincent was only an optional character in the original, which means he was pretty light on story content. His recruitment is mandatory in, but even so, players scarcely get a chance to explore his background outside his introductory scene. This opens up the perfect opportunity for DLC: much like created a tragic backstory for Yuffie, Vincent's own DLC could dive back into his past, giving players a chance to get to know Vincent before he returns in. Vincent's early days with the Turks, and his tangential involvement with the Jenova Project, would also provide a lot of important context to the lore.
Vincent isn't even a playable characterin, which creates another gap for DLC to fill. introduced players to Yuffie's unique ninja playstyle before she became a permanent party member in. If Vincent truly is to be playable in the sequel, as many fans hope, then a DLC would make the perfect proving grounds for his combat style. Players could get acquainted with Vincent's long-range weapons and vampiric Limit Break before gaining full control over him in, flattening the learning curve and building him up to be a stronger character in the sequel.
