One of the rarest skins in Fortnite history, the Black Widow skin, has made an unexpected return to the Item Shop after more than four and a half years of not being on sale.
Over the past few years, Fortnite has built up a nearly endless number of skins from crossovers and collaborations with pretty much every franchise and series you can think of. Most of these skins pop up in the Item Shop for a limited time and then return after a little bit, but there have been a few rare instances where skins have been kept in the vault without any hope of a comeback.
There are lots of examples of this, such as the Trench Raider, Psycho Bandit, Kratos, John Wick and Travis Scott skins, but one of the strangest instances of a skin being gone from the Item Shop for a long period of time is the Black Widow skin. As I'm sure you're aware, Fortnite has collaborated with Marvel many times over the last few Chapters and introduced a ton of heroes to The Island.
Aside from a few specific Battle Pass exclusive heroes like Iron Man, most of these skins have popped up fairly frequently in the Item Shop since they were first introduced. All except one, however - the Black Widow skin. For whatever reason, 2019's Black Widow skin was only rotated around the Item Shop a handful of times after debuting in April, before seemingly being sunset from Fortnite and not showing up once for 1, 668 days.
On the complete opposite end of the rarity spectrum is the Captain America skin, which recently became the most featured skin in the Item Shop. How patriotic.
