Warning: This article may contain SPOILERS for Obi-Wan Kenobi.
New story details from Star Wars' upcoming and highly anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi series have unveiled a connection to one of the original trilogy characters. The limited series will see Ewan McGregor reprise his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi, alongside Hayden Christensen's Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader and many new and familiar characters, as he navigates life in exile ten years after the events of Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith. Deborah Chow, whose Star Wars work debuted in The Mandalorian's «Chapter 3: The Sin» and «Chapter 7: The Reckoning,» has directed the series and produced it with a team of several others.
The story will follow Obi-Wan's exile in Tatooine in the middle of his transformation from the Jedi Master who narrowly escaped Order 66 to the old hermit Ben Kenobi that Luke Skywalker first came across in Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope. The time between the events of Order 66 and Vader's rise to the beginning of the Rebellion and the destruction of the first Death Star has yet to be explored in-depth on the screen, aside from Star Wars: Rebels' look at the five years before the events of A New Hope. Obi-Wan Kenobi will be joined by Andor later this year in informing viewers of what exactly was taking place during that time in the galaxy.
