Want to know how close the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney+ is? The first full trailer has arrived for the Star Wars show, and it reveals quite a bit. We see Obi-Wan's (Ewan McGregor) life on Tatooine, live-action Inquisitors, and a hunt for surviving Jedi.
«The fight is done,» Obi-Wan says to kick off the trailer. «We lost.» It's at that point that we see Obi-Wan keeping an eye on a young Luke Skywalker on Tatooine and the return of something glorious. Say what you will about Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, but Duel of the Fates--the piece of music that the climax of the film is set to--is one of the most wonderfully crafted pieces of music in the entire franchise. And, thankfully, it plays a huge role in this trailer.
As the tension in the song builds, we see the hunt for Jedi grow as Obi-Wan attempts to remain concealed on Tatooine. We also see the first full look at live-action Inquisitors. The Force-sensitive beings were tasked with hunting down the remaining Jedi and first debuted in the animated series Star Wars Rebels.
What we don't see is any look at Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen), who by this point in the Star Wars timeline would have become Darth Vader, as the series is set post-Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
There's still time to get to that, though, before Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres May 25 on Disney+.
